Craving a late lunch adventure, we ventured to Tan Tan Wok in Katy and, sure enough, did it hit the spot! The Snow Pea Leaf in Garlic Sauce was a symphony of fresh flavors, perfectly capturing the essence of spring. But the real stars of the show were the Salt and Pepper Pork Ribs - crispy, flavorful, and utterly addictive. And let's not forget the Walnut Shrimp, each bite a decadent dance of textures and tastes. To top it all off, the service was warm and attentive, making the entire experience truly enjoyable. If you're looking for a delicious and satisfying lunch in Katy, Tan Tan Wok is a must-try! Just be warned, you might end up wanting to go back for dinner
The menu online differs slightly from the one in the restaurant. Ordered the Singapore style stir fry vegetable with vermicelli. It tasted like the oil was burnt, which gave the whole dish a Burnt flavor which I was not a fan of. It was also very bland.
The clay pot catfish was delicious. I'm not a fan of sweet foods but this one was well balanced especially with the rice it cuts down on the sweetness. (FYI it has bones)
Portions are huge. So you won't go home hungry.
Waitress very nice and understanding. We asked questions and if she didn't know she would go ask. Kept my tea refilled faster than I can eat it
On my trip to Houston, my friends and I were craving some Chinese food. They suggested we go eat at Tan Tan, their favorite Chinese-Vietnamese fusion restaurant.
When we arrived, the place was packed with lots of Asians which is always a good sign. Fortunately, we got seated quickly because we were all starving. The server was quick to take our order, and the food followed shortly after.
The flavors here were excellent. Nothing was too spicy or greasy. The portion sizes were excellent, too. There were 4 adults and 2 kids in our group, and after ordering 4 entrees, a soup, and one appetizer, we still had leftovers.
There were a lot of items on the menu that I didn't get to try. I would definitely come back here again to try some of the other unique flavors like their hot pot.
The pho is one of favorites in Katy. The spring rolls are un matched unfortunately they didn't make the picture. Happy family is great! Service is fast and seating has no wait time despite huge crowd. Different locations but quality remains the same!
Great food that is a bit finer dining. Food seems to be prepared once you order it. Great flavor and nice serving sizes. We had the Salt Toasted shrimp dish, bbq pork fried rice, and vietnamese egg rolls. Salt toasted shrimp dish was just the right spice and sweet! Loved this dish! We chose to have shrimp peeled(an option). Fried rice had some flavor but I believe that adding a little jalapeños would enhance flavors. Service was good and servers attentive. Restaurant was clean.
What I didn't like was there was a child seated very close to my table playing a game or video with the sound too loud. This made my experience unpleasant. My grown daughter suffers an ailment where this noise could have triggered a seizure. I believe that management should ask guests like this to at minimum turn the sound off.
My new Saturday place. Food outstanding. Some of the best in Houston/Katy and I eat a lot of Vietnamese and Asian fusion. Service top notch. Atmosphere clean and inviting.
Food tastes the same as the Tan Tan Bellaire location, possibly smaller portion size due to their serving plates they use. Quick service and efficient. Would recommend if you’re in the Katy area craving Vietnamese and Chinese dishes. Order the banh bot chien, extra crispy, thank me later. Wished they have same operations time as Bellaire.
Let me start off by saying that the food was GREAT! Came out hot, very flavorful and fast. The reason why I gave 3 stars is because during our dining experience, a worker kept swatting some kind of bugs all over the wall, literally swatting non stop for about 30 minutes. At first it didn’t bother me but after the 10th swat I was instantly grossed out! She didn’t stop, from one wall to another, now ALL that I could think about is, (did a bug get in my food)? I just couldn’t unsee it guys, and believe me, the food was so good I hate that I did see this, I won’t be returning ONLY for that reason!
